A call to bioware may or may not fix this. While I love my CE for the case and the map, I really have to say you should go for the ultimate. Getting all the DLC, Awakening and Origins for just $60 is frickin' awesome. Remember that awakening is still $30. And there are 3-6 other DLC you will probably want that are each $5-7 each.
Most PCs won't need the affinity changed. Tru enough, that's not the case for Dragon Age:Origins though, couldn't say why. Prototype ran into a similar problem, on my PC, it wouldn't start, so i set the affinity my self, and it worked, an so i played. Next day I goto play prototype, forgetting to reset the cores, and it ran, on all my cores.

The gog release of Dragon age has zero fixes applied to it. It has the same stability as the steam version which is as poor as you have described. I have the game on Origin and it works well, hardly ever crashes but it's not immune to it. Make sure you save in multiple save slots regularly. 1.
6ZtPl. The ultimate Edition is the complete edition, that contains every single DLC and expansion. The digital deluxe edition just has a few extras over the original retail release. dedknedy (Topic Creator) 13 years ago #3. Based on that it's a pretty easy choice. d2d has the Ultimate edition for 39.99 and the digital deluxe for 39.95.
I have the ultimate edition on steam and had to edit the game file as the first poster mentioned theres instructions on how do so on the dragon age wiki.. Also you may have already but make sure theres is a space before the minus i believe(it may be after just know its there somewhere at the front)
Dragon Age: Origins is perhaps one of my favorite games of all time, I played it over and over on my Xbox 360. What I'm wondering is if I should get it on PC. It's been a while since I've played it and I havn't gotten any of the extra content packs other than awakening. My main question though is is this better than the console versions? I'm not really speaking in terms of graphics but in
Play it, especially if you intend to continue with the series. Dragon Age II and Dragon Age Inquisition continue the story. They also allow you to port your character story, so that storyline remains coherent. Also, Awakening is kind of cool. It has it's flaws, but is a proper story extension for the game.
Set the game resolution to 1080p then set your graphics driver to upscale the game to 4K. Solved - Normal looking UI in native 4K Small UI solution for some. For anybody with a 1440p or 4k monitor you might find the UI to small. It made the game to hard for me to play on my 1440p monitor.
